Finance Business Partner
Yorkshire-based with regular travel to project sites

We are recruiting on behalf of a major infrastructure business for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join their Energy Substation & Renewable Connections Division on a fixed-term basis through to December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing decision-making, and helping deliver strong commercial and financial performance across a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure projects.
The Role
Working as part of a high-performing finance team, you’ll partner with operational, commercial, and project stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight, challenge, and support. Your focus will be on helping the business make informed decisions, improve profitability, and maintain strong financial control across a range of contracts and projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Supporting monthly performance reviews and providing clear analysis of business results.
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and performance trends across projects and contracts.
- Driving improvements in profitability, cost control, and working capital performance.
- Providing financial challenge and support to operational and commercial teams.
- Ensuring robust financial governance, reporting accuracy, and compliance with internal controls.
- Contributing to strategic decision-making through high-quality financial insight and analysis.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a commercial mindset and excellent relationship-building skills.
You’ll ideally have:
- Recently qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Experience within a business partnering, operational finance, project finance, or commercial finance environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn financial data into actionable insight.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- A proactive approach with a growth mindset and a genuine desire to learn, develop, and improve business performance.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to visit project sites on a regular basis.
