      Role Profile: Collections Team Lead

      The Opportunity

      Located at our Downtown Toronto Head Office, the Collections Team Lead is a pivotal leadership role within the Client Solutions department. This position demands a high-performing finance professional who can balance active debt recovery with the supervision of daily operations. You will foster a culture of diligence and proactive problem-solving, driving departmental KPIs while providing strategic mentorship to a collaborative team.

      You will be working in Downtown Toronto, off of King and Union station.

      Monday-Friday: 9-5:30pm however some flexibility may be required

      Core Responsibilities

      • High-Impact Leadership: Act as a “pace-setter” for the department, dedicating 50%+ of your time to direct phone-based debt recovery and live call demonstrations.
      • Team Supervision: Monitor daily activities to ensure the team consistently achieves call volume and collection targets while providing real-time negotiation coaching.
      • Escalation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for sensitive negotiations and complex client disputes.
      • Financial Oversight: Manage the AR ledger to ensure aging remains within policy; oversee the accuracy of daily Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) files and financial documentation for the AR Manager.
      • Operational Excellence: Direct the flow of department correspondence and ensure meticulous system documentation and audit trails.
      • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Resolve intricate invoice and contract disputes by partnering with Service and Legal departments.
      • Compliance & Auditing: Review and approve payment schedules and contract cancellations to ensure 100% adherence to internal financial policies.

      Qualifications & Requirements

      • Experience: 3+ years of professional collections experience with a proven track record in team supervision.
      • Education: College or University Diploma in Finance, Business, or a related field.
      • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional research and investigative skills to navigate complex financial discrepancies.
      • Communication: Confident, professional verbal and written communication skills for high-stakes negotiations.
      • Problem Solving: A strategic ability to resolve difficult customer situations while maintaining brand reputation.
