      Tax Assistant Manager
      5 days a week on site
      Newport, South Wales
      Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
      Minimum 4 years in practice or industry required

      Are you an experienced tax professional ready to take the next step in your career? An established and growing accountancy team in Newport is looking for a proactive and technically capable Tax Assistant Manager to join their team.

      What you’ll be doing:

      • Preparing and completing Self-Assessment Tax Returns, including for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
      • Managing your own portfolio of personal tax clients.
      • Providing tailored tax advisory services and strategic tax planning solutions.
      • Preparing CGT disclosures and HMRC submissions.
      • Producing sole trader and partnership accounts.
      • Liaising professionally with HMRC to resolve compliance and enquiry matters.
      • Supporting junior staff and collaborating across departments.

      What we’re looking for:

      • CTA, ACA, and/or ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
      • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional accountancy setting.
      • Strong knowledge of personal and corporate tax return preparation.
      • Confident communicator with the ability to handle client queries and build lasting relationships.
      • Well-organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage tasks independently.
      • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and cloud-based accounting tools.
