Tax Assistant Manager
5 days a week on site
Newport, South Wales
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced tax professional ready to take the next step in your career? An established and growing accountancy team in Newport is looking for a proactive and technically capable Tax Assistant Manager to join their team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and completing Self-Assessment Tax Returns, including for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
- Managing your own portfolio of personal tax clients.
- Providing tailored tax advisory services and strategic tax planning solutions.
- Preparing CGT disclosures and HMRC submissions.
- Producing sole trader and partnership accounts.
- Liaising professionally with HMRC to resolve compliance and enquiry matters.
- Supporting junior staff and collaborating across departments.
What we’re looking for:
- CTA, ACA, and/or ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a professional accountancy setting.
- Strong knowledge of personal and corporate tax return preparation.
- Confident communicator with the ability to handle client queries and build lasting relationships.
- Well-organised, deadline-driven, and able to manage tasks independently.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and cloud-based accounting tools.
