Position: Human Resources Director
Location: Downtown Toronto, flexible hybrid schedule
Compensation: $120,000 + great benefits package (Benefits from day 1, matching RRSP, 3 weeks’ vacation + personal days, education reimbursement, company trips and more)

The Human Resources Director will play a key leadership role in designing, building, and overseeing the HR function within a growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR leader who has successfully built HR departments from the ground up, implemented scalable HR infrastructure, and led high-performing HR teams. This position will lead a small team of HR professionals and work closely with executive leadership to align HR strategy with business goals.
Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs across the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and compliance).
- Build and lead an HR department, including hiring and mentoring direct reports.
- Provide strategic HR guidance to executive and departmental leaders to support organizational development and culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and proactively address HR risks.
- Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretation.
- Develop and track key HR metrics to guide decisions and improve processes.
- Establish and manage performance review processes, employee engagement initiatives, and workforce planning strategies.
- Act as a key point of contact for legal, external consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead special projects such as change management initiatives, DEI programming, and HRIS implementation.
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Proven experience in establishing and scaling HR departments or teams.
- Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Human Resources or related field.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, policy development, and employee relations best practices.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and solution-focused mindset.
