      Audit Assistant
      Location: Edinburgh
      Salary: £22,000 – £26,000 (dependent on experience and exam progress)

      We are recruiting for a medium-sized firm of Chartered Accountants based in Edinburgh, with a strong reputation in the charity and not-for-profit sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Audit Assistant to join the audit team.

      The Role
      You will be involved in the full audit process, working closely with seniors and managers, and dealing directly with clients. The role is predominantly office-based in the Edinburgh office, with some client visits as required.
      Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
      * Assisting with the planning and delivery of audit assignments
      * Carrying out audit fieldwork, including testing and documentation
      * Preparing audit working papers in line with firm methodology
      * Drafting sections of audit reports and management letters
      * Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
      * Assisting with the preparation of accounts, particularly for charity clients
      * Supporting senior staff and managers across multiple engagements
      * Developing a good understanding of charity accounting and regulatory requirements

      About You
      * Qualified or part-qualified CA (ICAS), or ACCA with relevant audit experience
      * Previous audit experience within a UK practice environment
      * Charity or not-for-profit experience is highly desirable
      * Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
      * Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
