Position Summary
Our client is a consulting firm that provides HRIS implementation support and specialized payroll outsourcing services. They support organizations with full payroll management, offering accurate, professional, and personalized service.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and administering payroll for multiple clients as part of outsourced payroll mandates. This role requires strong payroll knowledge, an understanding of Quebec and Canadian labour legislation, and the ability to communicate effectively in both French and English.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a client-facing, consulting-style environment. Most mandates are long-term, though some short-term projects may require flexibility and adaptability to support clients during urgent or critical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and within required deadlines for a diverse client portfolio
- Calculate wages, overtime, leaves, bonuses, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Complete government remittances, including DAS, CNESST, QPP, EI, and taxes
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records
- Perform payroll account reconciliations
- Monitor regulatory changes and payroll best practices
- Act as the main point of contact for clients
- Advise clients on payroll processes and best practices
- Support knowledge transfer with new clients
- Prepare and explain payroll reports
- Complete year-end reconciliations and produce required tax documents
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and accounting teams internally and externally
- Support internal process improvements and presale initiatives
- Train and support colleagues when needed
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of payroll experience
- Experience in a multi-client, consulting, or outsourced payroll environment
- Experience with Workday and/or Dayforce
- Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian payroll legislation
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Client-service mindset
- Ability to work independently with discretion

Working Conditions
- Fully remote role
- 40 hours per week, with flexibility
- Competitive salary: $75,000 – 100,000
