Payroll Manager

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across Canada and the U.S. while managing a team of payroll professionals. This newly created leadership role offers exposure to a large, complex North American payroll environment and the opportunity to drive process improvements within a growing organization.

Overview

* Reporting to the Payroll Director
* Lead and develop a team consisting of a Payroll Specialist and Payroll Analyst
* Oversee payroll for approximately 1,600 employees across Canada and the U.S.
* Manage a payroll environment with 80% U.S.-based employees across multiple states
* Oversee multi-provincial Canadian and multi-state U.S. payroll operations
* Lead Canadian and U.S. year-end processing
* Serve as the Dayforce SME and support system enhancements
* Partner with HRIS on reporting, system changes, and process improvements
* Drive payroll compliance, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ideal Background

* Strong U.S. payroll experience including multi-state compliance and year-end processing
* Full-cycle Canadian payroll experience
* Advanced Dayforce knowledge
* Strong Excel and reporting skills
* Previous leadership, coaching, or team lead experience
* PCP or PLP designation preferred

* Base salary of $135,000 – $145,000 based on experience
