Portfolio Group are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive HR Generalist to join our client a growing organisation, proud award winning business based In Manchester City Centre. This role is part time, 3 days per week based on site.
In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, offering practical, commercially focussed HR support across a diverse workforce. You will ensure full compliance with UK employment legislation and internal policies whilst delivering a high-quality HR service across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding. You will also contribute to strategic people initiatives, playing a vital role in shaping company culture, enhancing employee wellbeing and driving continuous improvement throughout the business.
THE ROLE:
- Cultivate strong connections at all levels of the organisation to enable collaboration and aligned decision making.
- Preparation of offer letters and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance, providing a smooth, high-quality onboarding process for all new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records across all HR systems, ensuring compliance with legal, contractual and industry-specific standards.
- Delivering prompt, commercially aware advice to line managers on a wide variety of employee relations topics such as disciplinary issues, grievances, performance management, absence management, flexible working requests, etc.
- Supporting the management of cases, attending meetings and preparing documentation. Blending empathy and fairness with operational needs to achieve outcomes that benefit both employees and the business.
- Assist with contract transfers (TUPE) when mobilising or demobilising sites, ensuring smooth communication and employee support.
- Support payroll accuracy by resolving queries related to shift patterns, sickness, and contractual hours.
- Contribute to improving the process and systems of onboarding, induction and retention of site-based staff.
- Partner with senior leadership to advance key people initiatives, including employer value proposition, branding, engagement, and reward strategies.
REQUREMENTS:
- Demonstrable experience in an advisor role where you have provided guidance to line managers at all levels within a high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases effectively while maintaining excellent knowledge of current employment law.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills that enable you to influence outcomes positively even when holding difficult conversations or delivering challenging feedback.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise changing demands.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook and HRIS.
