      Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading public sector client to recruit for a Procurement Manager.

      The role:

      You will be tasked with managing end to end procurement and contract management activities associated with tender management and contract management disciplines.

      Key responsibilities

      • You will manage sub-categories of spend whilst supporting best practice for your spend area.
      • You will implement the category strategy through proactive management of projects involving multiple stakeholders and teams.
      • You will deliver robust processes and plans, helping implement procurement process.
      • You will support change within your category, whilst also supporting the wider transformation of the procurement department.
      • You will provide procurement and commercial advice in relation to projects and contracts in your category.
      • You will be responsible for managing risk and ensuring your supply base performs as contractually agreed.
      • You will support the end-to-end procurement process within your category.

      Skills and experience:

      • CIPS qualified and working towards MCIPS would be preferable, or equivalent qualification or experience.
      • Understanding of supplier management.
      • Demonstrable experience of delivering total cost of ownership savings.
      • Experience of delivering and implementing category and sourcing strategies, supporting the delivery of multiple strategies for various sub-categories.
      • Experience of supervising a team.
      • Knowledge and experience of public procurement regulations and processes (e.g. Procurement Act 2023, PCR2015, Health and Care Act 2022 Provider Selection Regime), using Government procurement frameworks and leading competitive tenders.
