Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Wales based client to recruit for a Buyer.
Purpose of role:
You will be responsible for the procurement of components and materials to ensure production targets are met. You will be maintaining relationships with new and existing suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take an active role in developing the supply chain strategy and approach.
- Deliver on savings targets.
- Manage supply chain risks, both in terms of material availability and cost.
- Develop, lead, and manage the procurement process for specific areas of spend
- Manage the supply chain to ensure the continued sustainability of procurement sources
- Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions.
Skills and Experience required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant Supply Chain role procuring and optimising direct technical material spend and indirect spend
- Excellent sourcing skills.
- Experience in the Supplier Relationship Management process with a clear understanding of the negotiation process
- Experience of implementing category plans
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel
- Hands-on’ mentality, self-starter, resilient and tenacious under pressure
- Good organisational and time management skills
