      US Tax Assistant

      We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services firm that is continuing to expand its US tax capability. This is an excellent opportunity for a US Tax Assistant to join a specialist team working with a varied portfolio of US-connected clients in the UK.

      The role will suit someone with experience in US tax compliance who is keen to build technical expertise, contribute to advisory projects and develop long-term client relationships within a collaborative environment.

      The Role

      You will be involved in the delivery of US tax compliance and advisory services across a diverse client base, supporting managers and senior stakeholders on both routine and complex matters. Responsibilities will include preparing tax filings, coordinating information from clients, and contributing to wider tax planning initiatives.

      Key duties will include:

      • Supporting the management of a portfolio of US individual and business clients
      • Preparing US tax returns for individuals and entities, including trusts and estates
      • Liaising with clients to obtain information required for filings and ensuring deadlines are met
      • Assisting senior team members in delivering high-quality advice to US-connected clients
      • Managing your workload effectively to meet multiple deadlines
      • Continuing to build technical knowledge, including working towards professional qualifications such as ‘Enrolled Agent’
      • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider tax team

      About You

      The successful candidate will have prior exposure to US tax compliance and a genuine interest in developing their career in this area. Experience across a range of US tax filings is beneficial, though not all areas are essential.

      Key requirements include:

      • Experience in US tax compliance and advisory work, particularly for individuals and owner-managed businesses
      • Familiarity with US tax forms such as 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 5471, 8858 and Streamlined filings is advantageous
      • Enrolled Agent status is preferred but not essential
      • Strong understanding of US compliance and extension requirements
      • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve tax issues
      • Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
