      Portfolio Payroll is collaborating with a well-established organisation in the manufacturing sector to recruit a Payroll Team leader on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team lead to join a respected organisation who is rewarding and supportive.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Ensure the team delivers accurate and timely payroll services in line with statutory requirements and internal Equans procedures.
      • Oversee audit processes for the payroll function, ensuring all checks and sign-offs are completed on schedule each month.
      • Lead on payroll process reviews and improvements, working with the Payroll Manager and HR Operations to identify and implement more efficient ways of working.
      • Keep process documentation and standard operating procedures up to date, ensuring they reflect current practices and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
      • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to the payroll team, driving high performance against KPIs and service level expectations.
      • Mentor team members by offering regular feedback, identifying development areas, and stepping in with hands-on support when needed.
      • Plan and organise team workflows throughout the year, ensuring resources are aligned to peak periods and business demands.
      • Build strong working relationships across the Shared Services and Leadership teams to support seamless end-to-end service delivery.
      • Collaborate with SAP technical teams to support system changes, validate data integrity, and ensure payroll configuration meets operational needs.
      • Step in for the Payroll Manager when necessary, ensuring continuity of leadership and service delivery.

      Desirable skills and attributes:

      • Previous experience in leading and developing a team
      • Strong understanding of pension regulations and reporting requirements
      • Strong understanding of GDPR
      • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
      • Able to work independently and collaboratively
