      Are you a skilled payroll professional with experience in a bureau environment? Are you ready to take the next step into a supervisory role or build on your existing leadership experience in a dynamic, fast-paced setting? We are pleased to be working with a leading Kent based Chartered Accountancy who are currently recruiting for a Payroll Supervisor within their department.

      As Payroll Supervisor, you will oversee a portfolio of diverse client payrolls, ensuring accurate, timely and fully compliant payroll delivery. Working alongside a team of payroll administrators and executives, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence and supporting team development.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manage the end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate execution of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls.
      • Supervise a team of payroll administrators – delegating workloads, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior members.
      • Perform quality control checks and review payroll outputs before client submission.
      • Stay up to date with UK payroll legislation including PAYE, NIC, statutory payments, pensions (auto-enrolment), holiday pay, and year-end processing (P60s, P11Ds).
      • Liaise directly with clients to manage payroll queries, resolve discrepancies, and provide guidance on payroll best practices.
      • Manage HMRC submissions including RTI (FPS, EPS) and ensure compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
      • Handle complex payroll issues such as parental leave, salary sacrifice, termination payments, and director’s NIC.
      • Collaborate with the senior leadership team on process improvements, systems optimisation, and staff development initiatives.

      Experience required:

      • Extensive experience of hands on clients payroll processing within a bureau setting
      • Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices.
      • Proven experience handling a varied and complex client portfolio.
      • Previous experience in a supervisory or senior payroll position, with people management or mentoring responsibilities.
      • Proficiency with Sage 50 payroll
      • CIPP qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but not essential.
