Portfolio Payroll are pleased to be supporting a rapidly growing start-up Payroll Bureau who are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking and commercial Payroll Manager to join them at a pivotal point in the company’s growth.
As Payroll Manager, you will take the lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and play a key role in the creation of the payroll function, with the support of a Payroll Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the onboarding of new clients, designing and implementing payroll processes from the ground up.
- Ensure accurate and compliant payroll delivery across a growing portfolio of clients.
- Build and develop a high-performing payroll team, setting the standard for service excellence and team culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape the bureau’s long-term strategy, tools, and processes.
- Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on all things payroll – from legislation to software.
Experience required:
- Proven payroll expertise gained within a bureau environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Excellent leadership skills
- Proficient in payroll software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to innovate and help shape a growing business
