      Payroll & Human Resources Manager

      This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and Payroll.

      Our client is a private wealth management firm located in Montreal’s International District. We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time position combining payroll and human resources management.

      Job Description

      We are looking for a meticulous, proactive, and independent individual. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of HR and Payroll for the family office, as well as with the General Manager of the entity under their responsibility, in a professional environment with family values, respect, and a focus on trust.

      Main Responsibilities

      Payroll

      • Manage the entire payroll cycle and ensure data accuracy (processing, transmission, and compliance of information)
      • Manage government remittances (QPP, EI, QPIP, taxes, etc.)
      • Produce and validate T4 slips, Relevé 1 slips, and other annual declarations
      • Administer CNESST-related files; Medical absences and disabilities
      • Maintain active monitoring of federal and provincial laws and regulations (labor standards, taxation, employee benefits, etc.)
      • Optimize and document payroll processes (efficiency, internal controls, automation, continuous improvement)
      • Answer employee questions and act as an internal resource person

      Human Resources component

      • Participate in the development, implementation, and evolution of HR policies
      • Support the General Manager of the entity under their responsibility as needed (hiring, onboarding, internal transfers, restructuring, departures, etc.)
      • Prepare and administer official documents: contracts, letters, disciplinary measures, termination agreements, etc.
      • Maintain and monitor pay equity and internal equity
      • Contribute to the management of employee benefits and group insurance
      • Ensure compliance of employee files and regulatory obligations
      • Act as a mediator in sensitive situations as needed
      • Contribute to HR strategy, organizational development, and internal culture
      • Manage files with external suppliers

      Requirements

      • University degree in Human Resources or a related field
      • Minimum 6 years of experience in a senior payroll and/or human resources role
      • Mandatory experience in managing the complete payroll cycle
      • Accreditation from the National Payroll Institute or CHRP is an asset
      • Excellent written and spoken French
      • Good knowledge of English is an asset
