      Payroll Administrator

      The Opportunity

      We are seeking a diligent Payroll Administrator to join our clients team in Calgary. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in stabilizing and streamlining payroll operations. This is an immediate-need, in-person position for a professional who enjoys being part of a collaborative, onsite team.

      Job Duties

      • High-Volume Processing: Manage bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,000 head office employees, alongside an alternating secondary payroll of 200.
      • System Management: Utilize Ceridian Dayforce to maintain earnings, deductions, and payroll calculations.
      • Inquiry Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, providing timely and professional support.
      • Process Improvement: Assist the Payroll Manager in tightening internal controls and preparing for the amalgamation of payrolls scheduled for April.
      • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all filings and remittances meet legislative requirements.
      • Cross-Functional Support: Provide support to the wider team of 8 as the department undergoes a process restructuring.
      • Documentation: Assist in documenting new payroll procedures to ensure team-wide consistency.

      Requirements

      • Experience: 2+ years of dedicated payroll experience in a high-volume environment (processing for 500+ employees is essential; 1,000+ preferred).
      • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Dayforce is a strong asset. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required for data reconciliation.
      • Adaptability: Ability to thrive during periods of change and process “tightening.”
      • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to handle high-volume inquiries from staff.
      • Availability: Must be able to work on-site at our Calgary location.
