Are you early in your payroll career and eager to take on more hands-on work, technical challenges, and real development opportunities? This is a fantastic chance to join a supportive and collaborative payroll team where you’ll be encouraged to learn, grow, and expand your skill set.
As the Payroll Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the end-to-end payroll process while developing your technical knowledge. You’ll work closely with experienced payroll professionals, gaining exposure to:
- Processing monthly and weekly payrolls
- Supporting payroll queries and providing excellent internal service
- Working with pensions, including auto-enrolment and contributions
- Assisting with payroll changes, starters/leavers, and data accuracy
- Participating in payroll projects, system improvements, and process reviews
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal controls
What They Are Looking For :
- Ideally 6-18 months’ payroll experience (or similar administrative experience with strong numeracy)
- Keen to take the next step in your payroll career with more responsibility
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Basic understanding of payroll legislation (desirable, not essential)
