Location: Toronto (5 days onsite – close to transit)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Operations Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring payroll and payment operations are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time across a global workforce.

What You’ll Do

• Own day-to-day payroll and payment operations, ensuring payroll activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate payroll-related workflows across internal teams and external partners to support a growing global workforce.
• Investigate and resolve payroll and payment discrepancies while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements that increase operational efficiency and reduce errors.
• Build and maintain payroll process documentation, standard operating procedures, and workflow guides.
• Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to improve payroll-related processes and systems.
• Monitor operational metrics, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation and adoption of new payroll tools, systems, and operational processes.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate cross-functional requests across multiple teams and time zones while ensuring deadlines are met.

What You’ll Bring

• 2-5+ years of experience in payroll operations, finance, operations, or a related analytical role, ideally within a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting payroll processes and working with payroll platforms such as ADP or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll operations, payment workflows, and operational controls.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience analyzing operational data; SQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working across cross-functional teams.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for creating efficient, scalable processes.
• Experience with documentation platforms such as Notion or Confluence is an asset.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools and workflow automation is considered a strong advantage.
