      Reporting directly to the HR Director, the Payroll Team Lead will steer the day-to-day operations of our payroll division while providing strategic leadership to our team of dedicated payroll and benefits coordinators. In this role, you will champion operational excellence by ensuring the high-accuracy delivery of multi-frequency compensation programs, navigating tax compliance frameworks, and refining internal processing workflows.
      Beyond core execution, this position carries a heavy focus on human capital development. You will actively mentor your staff by mapping out training pathways, establishing key performance metrics, and conducting formal performance appraisals. Operating directly from our progressive office environment in Mississauga, Ontario, this position requires a full-time, on-site presence.
      Responsibilities
      • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Direct the daily workload of the payroll team, fostering professional growth through skill development plans, performance objectives, and structured annual reviews.
      • Full-Cycle Payroll Supervision: Manage the accurate processing of payroll and benefit configurations, ensuring precise calculations for salaries, onboarding adjustments, and regulatory data entry.
      • Reconciliation & Tax Auditing: Orchestrate biweekly financial balancing cycles, verifying that all statutory source deductions, benefits withholdings, and government remittances strictly comply with legislative mandates.
      • Process Modernization: Audit existing operational frameworks to identify systemic inefficiencies, spearheading workflow enhancements to optimize payroll and benefit architectures.
      • Inquiry Resolution: Serve as the final escalation point for intricate employee inquiries, delivering premium, solutions-oriented customer service across all levels of the enterprise.
      Required Qualifications
      • Professional Credentials: An active PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional), PLP (Payroll Leadership Professional), or CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is mandatory.
      • Leadership Background: Proven supervisory or managerial experience overseeing staff within a dedicated corporate payroll function.
      • Corporate Tenure: 5+ years of comprehensive, hands-on payroll processing experience, ideally cultivated within a mid-to-large scale business enterprise.
      • Education: A University Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or an equivalent field of study.
      • Technical Mastery: Highly tech-savvy with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (complex modeling, lookups, and pivot tables) to drive data-driven decision-making
