Payroll Team Lead – 15-Month Contract
Location: Hybrid (2 days in office)
Portfolio Payroll is partnering with a respected organization to recruit an experienced Payroll Team Lead for a 15-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to oversee end-to-end payroll operations, lead a high-performing team, and ensure compliance across multiple provinces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the processing of bi-weekly payroll for 1600 employees across multiple provinces
- Ensure payroll compliance with all relevant federal and provincial legislation
- Act as a subject matter expert on payroll processes, including remittances and reporting (CRA, WCB, WSIB, EHT)
- Supervise, mentor, and support the payroll team of 2
- Lead year-end activities including reconciliations, T4s, and audit support
- Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes and internal controls
- Manage all payroll operations using Ceridian Dayforce
Qualifications:
- 5/7 years of payroll experience, including team leadership or supervisory roles
- PCP certification required; CPM designation is an asset
- Extensive hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a must
- Experience working with union payrolls and interpreting collective agreements
