About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple entities and pay cycles. This is a hands-on, sole-contributor role ideal for someone who has been fully responsible for payroll functions by owning the payroll function from end-to-end.
This position is a fully onsite role in Toronto within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. The ideal candidate is operationally strong, system-savvy, detail-driven, and capable of managing the payroll function independently.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Run full-cycle payroll for about 400 employees across 13+ legal entities
- Manage payroll processing across weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly cycles
- Unionized weekly payroll including union pensions and monthly remittances
- Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
- Handle multi-jurisdictional payroll across Ontario and Quebec
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, union agreements, pensions, and remittances
- Administer employee benefits deductions and payroll integrations
- Manage payroll in ADP (ADP Workforce Now)
- Support payroll setup and system structuring related to organizational growth and acquisitions
- Build scalable payroll processes as the company expands
- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and leadership
Requirements
- 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience
- Multi-entity payroll processing experience
- Union payroll experience (weekly pensions, monthly union remittances, remittances, compliance)
- Confident managing complex payroll structures, multiple entities, and union compliance
- Quebec payroll knowledge and compliance experience
- Expertise in ADP Workforce Now
- Ability to run payroll function independently, end-to-end
