      About the Role

      We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple entities and pay cycles. This is a hands-on, sole-contributor role ideal for someone who has been fully responsible for payroll functions by owning the payroll function from end-to-end.

      This position is a fully onsite role in Toronto within a fast-paced, high-growth organization. The ideal candidate is operationally strong, system-savvy, detail-driven, and capable of managing the payroll function independently.

      What You’ll Be Responsible For

      • Run full-cycle payroll for about 400 employees across 13+ legal entities
      • Manage payroll processing across weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly cycles
      • Unionized weekly payroll including union pensions and monthly remittances
      • Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
      • Handle multi-jurisdictional payroll across Ontario and Quebec
      • Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, union agreements, pensions, and remittances
      • Administer employee benefits deductions and payroll integrations
      • Manage payroll in ADP (ADP Workforce Now)
      • Support payroll setup and system structuring related to organizational growth and acquisitions
      • Build scalable payroll processes as the company expands
      • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and leadership

      Requirements

      • 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience
      • Multi-entity payroll processing experience
      • Union payroll experience (weekly pensions, monthly union remittances, remittances, compliance)
      • Confident managing complex payroll structures, multiple entities, and union compliance
      • Quebec payroll knowledge and compliance experience
      • Expertise in ADP Workforce Now
      • Ability to run payroll function independently, end-to-end
