Payroll and Benefits Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team at our Head Office in Brampton. This is a full-time, on-site position reporting directly to the Comptroller. The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and employee support.
Process and manage semi-monthly payroll, including new hires, terminations, job/status changes, and payroll reports, using Dayforce.
Reconcile employee time and attendance data and address discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of vacation, sick time, and other leave entitlements.
Complete monthly remittances and reconciliations for statutory deductions, benefits, and general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and ensure payroll records are consistently up to date.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll and benefit-related inquiries.
Conduct onboarding and training for new employees on Dayforce payroll and time tracking modules.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and provincial payroll legislation and internal company policies.
Administer and reconcile group benefit plans, including audits, reports, and third-party remittances.
Prepare and submit year-end documentation including T4s/T4As and taxable benefit calculations.
Generate reports and submissions for WSIB, CRA, EI, and other government agencies.
Support the accounting team during month-end and year-end close processes.
Perform additional duties as required by the Manager or designate.
Diploma in Payroll Administration or equivalent education/experience (minimum 3 years).
Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations, employment legislation, and accounting principles.
Experience with Dayforce is a significant asset.
PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute (formerly CPA) preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage deadlines under pressure.
