We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Bilingual Payroll Specialist (English/French) in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing full-cycle payroll for employees across multiple provinces, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations. Process full-cycle, bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for Canadian employees using [insert payroll software, e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Payworks.
Ensure accuracy in calculating regular pay, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory holiday pay.
Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, records of employment (ROEs), and year-end documents (T4s, RL-1s).
Administer benefits, pension, and RRSP deductions, and ensure proper remittance to service providers.
Handle payroll inquiries in both English and French, providing clear and accurate support to employees and internal teams.
Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and payroll systems.
Ensure compliance with CRA, provincial standards, and applicable employment laws.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
Stay up to date on payroll-related legislation changes and best practices.
Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) – Required
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle Canadian payroll processing.
PCP Certification from the National Payroll Institute (formerly CPA) – Preferred
Proficient with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Dayforce, Ceridian, Payworks, etc.)
Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, including ESA, CPP, EI, and income tax regulations.
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with HRIS systems.
High level of accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and customer service skills in both official languages.
