      Job Title: Payroll Analyst
      Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid/On-site)

      Position Summary

      The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for processing and analyzing payroll for employees across Canada, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal employment standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. This role will also contribute to payroll reporting, audits, and process improvements.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Process semi-monthly or bi-weekly payrolls for Canadian employees accurately and on time.

      • Ensure compliance with CRA regulations, provincial labour standards, and company policies.

      • Maintain and update employee records including compensation, benefits, and tax information.

      • Review and reconcile payroll data, deductions, benefits, and remittances.

      • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reports for Finance.

      • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and benefits with a customer-focused approach.

      • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and integration of data.

      • Assist with year-end tax filings including T4s and ROEs.

      • Support internal and external payroll audits, ensuring required documentation is accurate and available.

      • Recommend and help implement payroll process improvements and system enhancements.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.

      • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

      • Solid knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations (federal and provincial).

      • Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, or Workday.

      • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

      • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation from the National Payroll Institute.

      • Experience with payroll reporting and integration with accounting systems.
