Payroll Manager

Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Our client, a well-established organization based in Downtown Toronto, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll function. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys leading a team, driving process improvements, and ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a large, multi-provincial employee population.
Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time in compliance with all federal and provincial legislation.
Manage payroll-related activities, including year-end processing, T4s, ROEs, statutory remittances, and reconciliations.
Partner with HR, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to support payroll and benefits administration.
Maintain and optimize payroll systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist with payroll implementations, system upgrades, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
PCP designation required; CPM designation is considered a strong asset.
Experience processing high-volume, multi-provincial payroll in Canada.
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, employment standards, and statutory requirements.
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Dayforce, UKG, Workday, or similar.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are an asset.
