      Job Title: Payroll Supervisor
      Location: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week – Toronto)

      Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000
      Reports To: Payroll Manager


      About the Company

      Our client is a large, reputable healthcare organization with over 750 employees across Ontario. The company is currently undergoing a major Workday implementation and is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to provide leadership, ensure accuracy in payroll processing, and contribute to process improvement initiatives during this transition.


      Position Summary

      The Payroll Supervisor will oversee a team of four payroll professionals, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payrolls across multiple sites in Ontario. This role requires a hands-on leader with proven Workday Payroll experience and a strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the ongoing Workday implementation, optimizing workflows, and ensuring best practices in payroll administration.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of four payroll staff to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.

      • Oversee full-cycle payroll for approximately 750 employees across Ontario, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal legislation.

      • Act as a Workday subject matter expert (SME) during the ongoing implementation-testing, troubleshooting, and validating data as needed.

      • Review and approve payroll runs, reconciliations, and year-end reporting (T4s, ROEs, etc.).

      • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation within the payroll function.

      • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.

      • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations, taxation changes, and compliance requirements.

      • Prepare and present payroll reports and metrics to management as needed.


      Qualifications

      • PCP or PLP designation (required).

      • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience leading payroll teams.

      • Minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience in medium to large organizations.

      • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll is essential.

      • In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance.

      • Proven experience managing payroll during system implementations or upgrades.

      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
