Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist
Location: Mississauga 3 x a week
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Payroll Specialist, you will:

Manage end-to-end payroll for 500+ salaried and hourly employees across various Canadian provinces.
Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial payroll regulations.
Process timely and accurate payroll via direct deposit in alignment with payroll deadlines.
Maintain detailed and confidential employee records, including personal, banking, and tax information.
File statutory remittances and reports such as T4/T4A, RL1, ROE, EI, CPP, WSIB, CNESST, and EHT.
Perform regular payroll audits and reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
Oversee year-end processes, including the preparation and distribution of tax forms.
Manage vacation accruals and payouts in accordance with company policies.
Prepare and post payroll journal entries, including month-end and year-end adjustments.
Act as the subject matter expert for Ceridian Dayforce payroll and time tracking modules.
Provide training and support to managers and supervisors on payroll systems and procedures.
Stay current on changes to payroll legislation to ensure continued compliance.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP)
5-7 years of progressive payroll experience in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce payroll system.
Solid understanding of Canadian payroll regulations (including Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
