      About the Role

      We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations for our growing automotive manufacturing facility in Kitchener, ON. This on-site role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has experience with Dayforce (Ceridian). The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processing while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of all payroll activities.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Manage full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in a high-volume, unionized/non-unionized environment.

      • Supervise, mentor, and support one direct report (Payroll Administrator).

      • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards, tax laws, and internal policies.

      • Review and audit payroll runs for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and remittances.

      • Manage payroll-related year-end activities including T4s, ROEs, and year-end reconciliations.

      • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data integrity across systems.

      • Support internal and external audits as needed.

      • Maintain and optimize payroll processes within Dayforce (Ceridian); participate in system upgrades or configuration changes.

      • Stay current with legislative changes affecting payroll practices in Ontario and Canada.


      Qualifications

      • 3-5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 1+ year in a supervisory or lead role.

      • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification preferred.

      • Dayforce (Ceridian) experience strongly preferred.

      • Experience in manufacturing or automotive industry an asset.

      • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, government remittances, and year-end reporting.

      • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.

      • Proficiency with MS Excel and payroll systems; experience with time and attendance integration a plus.
