      Role: Payroll & HRIS Manager

      Location: Montreal

      Working model 3 days onsite

      Level: Manager, leadership

      Leadership & Team Management

        • Supervise and mentor payroll specialists to build an effective and collaborative team.

        • Manage end-to-end payroll operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

        • Lead payroll input into system implementations (e.g., UKG Time & Attendance module).

        Payroll Processing & Compliance

        • Administer payroll across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces for hourly and salaried staff.

        • Ensure full compliance with applicable labor and tax regulations (e.g., U.S. federal/state laws, Canadian employment standards).

        • Develop payroll policies, controls, and procedures; lead audit readiness and compliance reviews.

        Collaboration & Reporting

        • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Legal to align payroll with benefits, GL reconciliation, and reporting requirements.

        • Deliver insights through detailed payroll reports and compliance metrics.

        Process Improvement

        • Identify and implement improvements in payroll workflows and system utilization.

        • Maintain thorough documentation including task calendars and standardized procedures.

        Key Performance Indicators

        • Maintain full compliance with audit standards.

        • Ensure timely payroll delivery for all employees in Canada and the U.S.

      Qualifications

      • Billingual in English and French
      • Previous team leadership experience
      • PLP or PCP certification considered an asset
